Overview

FundsDLT, a subsidiary of Clearstream, is a blockchain-powered financial platform designed to modernise banking infrastructure and investment processes by integrating blockchain based systems. Traditionally, private investments have been burdened by outdated IT systems, slow transaction times, and inefficiencies across multiple intermediaries.

The Disruptives were brought in to design a new product that would transform private investments, ensuring a seamless integration into FundsDLT’s existing B2B platform used by banks worldwide. Our role extended beyond UX/UI design - we conducted deep system analysis, streamlined user flows, and guided their internal design team to create a future-proof, blockchain-driven experience.

The Challenge

  • Integrating new product Into an Existing B2B Platform : FundsDLT’s platform was already in use by major financial institutions. The new private investment feature needed to blend seamlessly into the current product suite while introducing a more intuitive and efficient user experience.

  • Complex User Journeys & Process Friction : Private investments involve multiple stakeholders, each with different workflows, approval processes, and compliance requirements. Mapping out clear, optimised user journeys across various touchpoints was critical.
  • Design System Inconsistencies : The existing platform’s UI components, visual language, and interaction models were inconsistent, making it difficult to scale new features cohesively. The challenge was to refine the design system for better usability, scalability, and alignment across all products.

  • Streamlining Processes for Institutional Clients : Large banks and financial institutions require highly structured workflows, but existing systems were complex and inefficient. The new product needed to enhance speed, clarity, and automation while maintaining security and compliance.

Our Approch

  • Customer Journey Mapping & System Thinking : Conducted in-depth stakeholder research, persona development, and journey mapping to understand how different users (banks, asset managers, compliance teams) interact with the platform. Identified friction points, inefficiencies, and areas for automation.

  • Seamless UX Integration : Designed user flows, wireframes, and interaction models that allowed the new private investment feature to fit naturally within FundsDLT’s existing B2B ecosystem. Ensured that workflows were optimised without disrupting existing platform functionality.

  • Guiding Internal Design Team & Process Optimisation : Provided structured UX guidance and workflow improvements for FundsDLT’s internal team, ensuring they could maintain UX consistency across future developments.
  • Refining the Design System : Audited existing design components, patterns, and UI inconsistencies, then proposed system-wide improvements to create a more scalable, user-friendly design framework for all future products.

  • Enhanced Financial Process Flows : Simplified transactional steps, approval hierarchies, and compliance checkpoints, ensuring that private investment processes were faster, clearer, and more efficient without compromising regulatory requirements.

  • Scalability & Future-Proofing : Suggested a UX framework that could ensure new investment products can be integrated easily, supporting long-term platform growth without requiring major reworks.

Results and Business Impact

By refining FundsDLT’s private investment experience, we improved workflow efficiency and platform usability, making it easier for banking operators to navigate complex financial processes. The optimised user flows and system-wide design enhancements have reduced friction in investment operations, improving adoption and engagement.

Our work on the design system and process alignment has set a strong foundation for future product expansion, ensuring scalability as the platform evolves. While the project is ongoing, our contributions have already streamlined decision-making, improved design team collaboration, and strengthened the platform’s ability to integrate new financial products seamlessly.
